639 Kikuube Farmer groups receives PDM Money

A total of 2,428 people from 639 farmer groups in 29 Parish Development Model Saccos in Kikuube district received 2.2 billion shillings out of 3.1 billion shillings that was received by the district.

This was shortly after the minister of state for transport Fred Byamukama launched the disbursement.

Nicholas Kiiza, 

the Secretary for Production and Natural Resources says that there have been delays in the disbursement of funds as the responsible officers were working on entering and clearing the data of  the beneficiaries.

Minister Fred Byamukama urged the beneficiaries to take PDM Seriously if there to kick Poverty out of their households.

The Hon Minister further encouraged the beneficiaries to venture into Commercial Agriculture adding that there is more money in Agriculture now that our district hosts big oil Companies which need Food and also products from Animal rearing.

Let’s avoid being Oil spectators and focus on how we can benefit with the help of the PDM Program.

Amlan Tumusiime the Resident District Commissioner commended the President of Uganda H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for such a brilliant idea  and a strategy for eliminating Poverty.

The RDC added that as leaders they will follow up on the funds to ensure that the beneficiaries utilize their money and also asses the Impact laiter.

The Area legislators,Hon Aseera steven Itaza from Buhaguzi East and Hon kazin Francis from Buhaguzi appreciated the beneficiaries for being patient enough. The leaders also warned them against diversion of Funds.

Agum Moses the District Chief Administrative Officer applauded the district PDM core team right from the Focal Person, Parish Chief, LC2 Chairpersons, CDOs and Commercial Officers for there generous contributions towards the Success of PDM and especially the official launch of the Parish Revolving Fund.

Peter Banura the district Chairperson also urged the beneficiaries to utilize the PRFs well to ensure they attain economic growth and transformation.

The District boss also thanked Government for Improving the district road network by rehabilitating different roads in the district under the ARSDP Project

The chairperson further requested for an Industrial park to help in boosting trade and development in the new oil district.

After the launch the Honourable Minister together with the district leaders  went ahead and Inspected the ongoing Works for the Construction of the district Headquarters and the Minister appreciated the Works so far done
