Kikuube PDM Model Farmer Recieves Presidential Recognition and support

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni visited Kikuube District yesterday, March 18, 2025, and gifted Mr. Mpagazihe Jackson, a model farmer, with 10 million shillings to purchase a tuk-tuk for transporting his farm products to the market
Mr. Jackson, a Parish Development Model (PDM) farmer from Kimbugu Village, Kimbugu Parish, Kabwooya Sub-county, impressed the President with his eight fish ponds, which have generated 2.9 million shillings from the Parish Revolving Fund.
President Museveni commended Mr. Jackson for his success in fish farming, demonstrating that starting a fish pond doesn’t require a lot of money. The President also pledged 25 million shillings to facilitate the purchase of a fish feed-making machine to enhance Mr. Jackson’s enterprise.
The president also made a humble pledge of 50M shillings to the Kabwooya Catholic Church and 20M to a councilor who owns an orphanage
He also gifted the LC1 Chairperson with cash totaling to 6M to enable him purchase a motorcycle and 1M to each PDM Farmer who attended the Function in Kikuube.
The RT Hon. Robinah Nabanjja the Ugandan Prime Minister appreciated  the president for loving bunyoro, she further thanked him for the good road Infrastructure, the Airport, Bunyoro University and the Stadium which Meets  National Standards hence enhancing Development in Bunyoro.
The Buhaguzi County Member of Parliament Hon. Kazin Francis Twinomujuni hailed the President for the Visionary Idea of the Parish Development Model  where he pledged total cooperation and support from all leaders to ensure poverty is kicked out of kikuube right from the Village level
However the Honourable highlighted some challenges the district is facing which needs the President’s Intervention like;
Lack of Electricity in the area thus hindering Development.
Need for formulation of more administrative units since some areas are too big
 Resetling of the Bukinda Evictees and addition of more free land titles in the district to help the disadvantaged and to fight land grabbers
The President replied to the concerns saying that they should be noted down to enable him analyze and handle them amicably.
The Engagement is part of the activities in the President’s 5 day tour in buyoro region to assess the progress of the Parish Development Model and  other Key Infrastructure Projects.
