Kikuube District Administration Block Commissioned

 

The Ugandan Prime Minister RT.HON.Robinah Nabbanja  on the 6th of December 2024 commissioned a State of Art  Kikuube District Administration block aimed at bringing Services closer to the People.

The 2.38 billion District Administration block was constructed with a funding from the Office of the Prime Minister under the Development Response to Displacement Impact Project (DRDIP)

DRDIP was a Project intended to address expanded needs with in the 15 Refugee hosting districts in Uganda. The Project was designed to address the unmet Social economic and environmental needs identified in the local host communities in districts of Arua, Terego,  Maddi okollo, Koboko, Yumbe, Moyo, Obongi and Adjumani in the WestNile Region and Isingiro, Kamwenge and Kyegegwa in the South west Subregion.

According to the Hon Prime Minister, the facility(Administration block) is not only a building but rather a symbol of Government commitment to strengthening Local Governments and bringing essential services closer to the People. The Prime Minister further appreciated the NRM- Government for always being closer to its people.

The District Governor Hon. Peter Banura who spear headed the function appreciated the OPM Team for their continuous efforts which has enabled the district to get a home.

The Governor added the facility will serve as a hub for planning and decision making, a centre for coordination and Community engagements, creating of more job opportunities and also supporting of local businesses which will help the community to thrive.

DRDIP has invested over Shs 20bn to finance Infrastructure development in Kikuube District for its 5 year tenure. This includes construction of 16 Schools, 5Roads and bridges, 6 Health Centres , 1 District Medical store and the District Administration block being commissioned.
